Privacy Policy

Last updated 20 August 2026

Verdict (verdict8.com) is operated by Sage8.AI, a New Zealand company. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you request a website audit or redeem a Free Re-audit, why we collect it, and your rights under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and, for our Australian clients, the Australian Privacy Act 1988.

What we collect

When you submit the “Get Your Verdict8” form or redeem a re-test code, we collect:

We also automatically collect a small amount of technical data: the IP address of anyone submitting a re-test code (used only to stop abuse of that form) and standard error/performance diagnostics from our monitoring tool if something breaks. We don't run advertising trackers or analytics cookies on verdict8.com.

How we use it

Only to run the service:

We don't use your information for advertising, and we don't currently send marketing emails based on your submission. If that ever changes, we'll ask for your consent first.

Who we share it with

We never sell your information. We share it only with the service providers that run Verdict8 on our behalf, each used only to provide their service to us:

Several of these providers operate outside New Zealand and Australia, most commonly in the United States. Where that's the case, we rely on their own data-protection commitments and standard contractual safeguards, consistent with our obligations under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 (Information Privacy Principle 12) around disclosing information outside New Zealand.

Website content in your report

Because an audit works by reading your site, and your report may reference publicly available information about the competitors you name (or that we identify), a report can contain content drawn from third-party websites. We don't warrant the accuracy of that third-party content, and referencing a competitor isn't an endorsement of, or relationship with, that business.

How long we keep it

We keep your submission and report on file so you can redeem your Free Re-audit and so we have a record of what we delivered. If you'd like your data deleted sooner, email hello@verdict8.com and we'll remove it, except where we need to keep limited records for tax, accounting, or legal reasons.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your information, including relying on providers with their own security practices (Stripe, Neon, Vercel) rather than building payment or hosting infrastructure ourselves. No system is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security of information transmitted to us.

Children

Verdict8 is a business service. It's not directed at, and we don't knowingly collect information from, anyone under 18. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, email hello@verdict8.com and we'll delete it.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time to see the information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. New Zealand and Australian clients also have the right to complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (NZ) or the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) if you believe we've mishandled your information. Contact us first at hello@verdict8.com and we'll do our best to sort it out directly.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service changes. We'll update the “last updated” date above when we do; material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
