Terms of Service

Last updated 20 August 2026

These terms govern your use of verdict8.com and any audit report you buy from us (“Verdict8”, “we”, “us”), operated by Sage8.AI, a New Zealand company. By submitting the “Get Your Verdict8” form, redeeming a Free Re-audit, or buying a report, you agree to these terms. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your information.

The service

Verdict8 produces a structured, scored audit of a website across nine dimensions — SEO, AEO, GEO, LSO, LLM Citation Potential, Brand, UX, Grammar/Content Quality, and Links — in one of three tiers:

Every audit — including the free Brief Summary — includes one Free Re-audit, valid for 90 days from when your report is sent. It's redeemable any time within that window, no need to wait, at verdict8.com/retest with the code included in your report. One re-audit per audit — it isn't a recurring subscription unless we separately agree that with you.

Our partner and agency packages (bundles, retainers, annual licences, white-label) aren't covered by these self-serve terms — those are agreed separately, by invoice.

Ordering and payment

Paid tiers are purchased through Stripe Checkout at the price shown at checkout. We don't store your card details — Stripe handles payment processing directly. Your audit begins once payment is confirmed.

What we deliver, and what we don't guarantee

Verdict8 is a diagnostic and advisory service, not a guarantee of results. We don't promise a specific search ranking, traffic increase, or business outcome from acting on our recommendations. Findings that can be verified directly against your live site (broken links, missing tags, structured data, and similar) are checked, not guessed — if we can't access your site, we'll say so rather than invent a score. Some dimensions, particularly Brand and UX, involve expert judgement rather than a strictly verifiable fact, and should be read as informed opinion, not an objective measurement. Nothing in a Verdict8 report is legal, financial, or professional advice.

Because the audit engine reads publicly available information about your website and, where relevant, the competitors you name or that we identify, a report may reference third-party content. We don't warrant the accuracy of that third-party material, and referencing a competitor is not an endorsement of, or relationship with, that business.

Your responsibilities

When you submit a URL, you confirm you own that website or are authorised to have it audited. You're responsible for giving us accurate contact and business information — we can't deliver a report to the wrong email address or audit the wrong site.

Report ownership and use

Once delivered, the report is yours to use for your own business purposes. You can't resell it, redistribute it as your own work, or use Verdict8's name, branding, or methodology to represent your own services without our written permission.

Refunds and cancellations

Because your audit begins processing as soon as payment is confirmed, we don't offer refunds once a report has started generating, except where required by New Zealand's Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or Fair Trading Act 1986 (or your local equivalent). If something goes wrong with your audit or delivery, email hello@verdict8.com first — we'll fix it or make it right before you need to fall back on a formal claim.

Liability

To the maximum extent the law allows, Verdict8 and Sage8.AI aren't liable for indirect, consequential, or economic loss arising from your use of a report or the site, and our total liability for any claim is capped at the amount you paid for the audit giving rise to that claim. Nothing here limits liability that can't be excluded under New Zealand or Australian consumer law.

Changes to the service or these terms

We may update these terms, our pricing, or the service itself as Verdict8 evolves. We'll update the “last updated” date above when we do; continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the update.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, and any dispute is subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts, regardless of where you or your business are based.
